About Us

Prepared International (PPI) was founded during the Nepal earthquake where the lack of preparedness was evident in an extreme way, despite strong funding support. Several global disaster experts came together to change the approach to disaster risk management. PPI specializes in consultation, research and training services in the field of disaster risk reduction, preparedness, climate change adaption and resilience, in order to inform political decision-making and target a capacity-building strategy for the long term. The PPI approach encompasses a holistic set of disaster risk reduction tools, including the development of preparedness models, organisational development and restructuring, self-adaptive systems and governance strategies.

As our guiding mission, PPI seeks to offer detailed, specialized expertise in the field of disaster risk management in order to design a practical, yet detailed strategy for resilience. This includes e.g. Operational Continuity Management for urban areas, strategies for high-risk zones, and cooperation in Disaster Risk Management for conflicting communities. PPI has long-standing expertise in simulation design and capacity-building. Our team of international and local experts works towards utilizing lessons learned at the forefront while developing and implementing new concepts and tools.
While the organization is registered under German law, the highly experienced experts are multi-national. We are all driven by the same understanding: That a stronger preparedness of communities and societies is possible with the current investment in this field.
